Open since 2018, Papillon is situated on the North-West coast of Skye in the crofting community of Harlosh, a few miles from the village of Dunvegan, and Dunvegan Castle. Ideally located for touring Skye and all it has to offer.
We are James and Rachel and along with our young son Toby we would like to offer a warm welcome to guests staying in either our bed & Breakfast rooms or The Tin Hut and The Tin House self catering units. We hope you will enjoy a homely base for your time exploring the wonderful Isle of Skye. Whether you are coming for the walking, to explore the rugged wilderness or to see the sights, we have books, maps and guides to help you make the most of your time on Skye and can also provide recommendations on the best cafes and restaurants
Papillon is surrounded by Loch Vatten on two sides and croftland on the the other two sides. Wildlife is in abundance with seals sunning themselves on the rocks of the loch and dolpins swimming in the loch, rabbits grazing the garden and a huge variety of birds including Buzzards, Merlins, Oystercatchers, Geese, Pippets and Tits to name a few. White Tailed Sea Eagles have also been seen from the house.
We are proud to have won a Tripadvisor Travellers Choice award in 2020 thanks to the encouraging feedback from guests.
At Papillon we endeavour to try to be as eco friendly as we can in what we deliver including no single use plastics, re-fillable shower toiletries and eco friendly products used for housekeeping.
